The soul of sailing
Welcome to a shared dream — a slice of it, at least.
Philippes’s dream… and perhaps already a little bit yours, if you’ve found your way here.
A rare and gentle escape, crafted with care and respect — thoughtful, elevated travel for those who choose a different way of exploring.
Pearl 111 awaits you, serene and ready to carry you somewhere else.
From the Sri Lankan jungle to the Maldivian lagoons, a single philosophy connects these two worlds:
one of natural harmony, attentive to the beauty of the world and to those who journey through it.
Pearl 111 is not just a boat — it’s an experience, a manifesto for a different way of traveling: slow, authentic, and responsible.
The Genesis of the Project
It all began with a bold idea: to create an ecolodge high in the hills, nestled among Sri Lanka’s tea plantations.
At a time when the civil war was drawing to an end, Philippe G. envisioned a place in harmony with nature — where sustainability, serenity, and hospitality could coexist.
Despite the uncertainties, the dream took shape. The lodge became a rare refuge, suspended between mist and greenery, celebrated for its commitment and discreet elegance.
A few years later, Philippe A., a longtime friend and lover of the sea, joined the adventure.
Together, they dreamed of a natural extension of their vision — this time, at sea.
From that shared dream was born a daring idea: a wooden sailing yacht, a graceful three-masted vessel, symbolizing freedom and escape.
Discovered in Turkey, the boat was sailed to Sri Lanka before crossing the Indian Ocean to the Maldives on a three-day voyage.
There, Pearl 111 dropped anchor — marking the second chapter in the story of Ecolodgia:
an alliance between land and sea, nature and travel, dream and reality.

The crew was amazing — always doing everything possible to please us, from early-morning fishing trips to discovering the best snorkeling and diving spots. The food was delicious, generous, and refined, and swimming with sharks was simply incredible!
